Since the compact crossover segment is so highly contested and manufacturers are pouring resources into these vehicles in order to get a lead, it’s no wonder they’re actually good vehicles.

There really isn’t a dud among them, and not even the aging Mitsubishi Outlander Sport (aka ASX) is a bad way to go.

The Mitsubishi is the weakest model tested by KBB, and it’s the designated underdog here. However, not even it is a bad way to go (as anybody who’s driven one can attest), although it can’t match the latest models from Kia, Honda or Mazda.

Nowadays, you don’t look at which model is good and which is bad; you look at which of the many solid choices is closest to what you want to find in a car. The choice is wide and once you’ve chosen the model, the smaller it is the more customization you can put on it.
