Brace yourselves; the fastest roofless Lamborghini is coming.
The Italian car manufacturer will finally produce a Roadster variant of the completely insane LP750-4 Super Veloce model. Dubbed the LP750-4 SV Roadster (very imaginative), the car will pick up where the Coupe version left off – completing Lambo’s line-up of outrageous supercars.
According to Top Gear, Labmorghini’s boss – Stephan Winkelmann – stated at the Goodwood Festival of speed: “We will produce a roadster version; our dealers worldwide are now taking orders.”
Since the Aventador SV will basically be a coupe SV without a roof (d’oh), the automobile will come with the same powertrain and performance figures. So, expect the 6.5-litre V12, developing 740hp (750PS) and a sub 3 second time from 0 to 100 Km/h (0 – 62 Mph), howling from behind the back seats, straight into the driver’s exposed ears.
Back in March, we scooped-out a camouflaged test mule of the roadster, so we can’t say we’re surprised by the official news.
In fact, we would be stunned only if it would take more than six months for the hardcore Roadster to achieve the “sold-out” status, since it will be produced in only 500 exclusive examples – 100 less than the coupe version.
