Local Motors, the company that has future owners come in and help build their vehicle, has just published a video showing a Rally Fighter bare chassis powered by electric motors.
It’s just a development trial, to see how it would cope with the new power and extra weight of batteries, but it previews the engineering that you’ll see in an electric Rally Figther that you’ll be able to buy.
No word on when it could be made available, though.
Local Motors is no stranger to electric vehicles, as it builds and sells the Verrado electric trike, a vehicle purpose built for fun and drifting.
However, the Rally Fighter is a far more complex machine and switching it to electricity will require some reengineering of the old platform.
Check it out in action in the short video posted below!
