Did it ever cross your mind that the Mercedes-Benz G-Class AMG 6×6 isn’t exclusive enough? No – anyone?
Well, it doesn’t matter, because tuning-house Mansory decided to make it more outrageous and bespoke, anyway. That being said, how do you improve an automotive superlative?
As Mansory states, you could start by adding some carbon-fiber bodywork components, a luxurious interior, a “beefy increase in performance” and a cool name: G63 6×6 Gronos. Oh, and a yellow paintjob – that works every time.
That being said, the “beefy increase in performance” is actually quite substantial, since the tuner harvests an additional 292 horses from the 5.5-litre, twin-turbo V8 with the help of racing spec components.
So, thanks to some clever engineering and new pistons, connecting rods, big end bearings, crankshaft, crank, cylinder head and many other parts, the big 6×6 now develops an outstanding power output of 828 horses and an electronically limited torque figure of 1,000Nm.
The truck also comes with a re-designed exhaust system, from the manifold all the way to the side tail pipes.
From a visual standpoint of view, Mansory garnished the vehicle with a plethora of carbon fiber elements, ranging from the fenders to the mirror housings. The front-end isn’t very different from other models, like the Sahara G63 AMG.
The stock hood and grille have been replaced with carbon-fiber alternatives with extra air inlets to help the AMG beast breathe better. In fact, all the visual alien elements that differ from the stock G63 6×6, are made from the lightweight material.
And if you ever thought that the headlights and the DRLs are not enough to light your path, Mansory fitted extras on the roof, housed in a carbon-fiber frame, of course.
