Buying a Mercedes-AMG GT means being more than OK with people staring at your beautiful two-door coupe when you drive by. Add a set of red wheels and..you may have to stop for pictures.
It’s hard to say if these Candy Apple red Forgiato Kato-1-ELC wheels are too much for this car. The color is cool, the design is really clever and the car looks awesome – can’t argue with that one, right?
But what happens after you’re done admiring the wheels? Sure, they’re nice, but are they nice enough for you to live with on a daily basis, or do they simply turn into something a little too kitschy after a while?
The only way to take your mind off the wheels would be to get behind the steering wheel of the range-topping AMG GT S, going 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.8 seconds and maybe even pushing all the way to 310 km/h (192 mph) – if law & road allow it.
It’s a seriously fast car, just “ask” the vast majority of people that have reviewed it. Still, if you want to throw a set of flashy custom wheels at it, you should feel free. Remember this set from Vossen? They were splendid to say the least.
Generally speaking, red wheels work well with a silver, white, even a black car, but it’s one thing to strap them on for a custom wheels show, and entirely another thing to drive with them every day.
So yes, way too colorful!
