Bentley owners who have a boatload of cash lying around and don’t know how to spend it, will want to look at the firm’s new mobile phone developed by luxury handset maker Vertu.
This is the second handset released (see the first one here) in the five-year partnership between Bentley and Vertu and it will be displayed for the first time in public at this weekend’s Goodwood Festival of Speed before going on for sale on September 18.
The handcrafted phone is based on Vertu’s Signature series. While it won’t blow you away with its tech specs as it runs on old-school Nokia Series 40 software and has an anachronistic alphanumeric keypad (sorry, no touchscreen here), the Signature for Bentley will get your attention with its chic styling and materials, but more importantly, its asking price of –wait for it- £14,500 or about $22,900 / €20,400!
The Signature for Bentley by Vertu comes with a stainless steel body with knurled finish reminiscent of the automaker’s control knobs, along with a carbon fiber bolster surrounding the speaker and Beluga Black calf leather on the back. Customers will be able to choose from eight different Bentley leather and stitching colors, as well as from six gemstones.
