Well, that was unexpected; Cadillac’s all-new XT5 mid-size SUV that will replace the SRX was photographed out in the open completely undisguised in production trim.
The 2016 Cadillac XT5 was spotted by Jalopnik Oppositelock author ‘saw390‘ Thursday morning completing a photo-shoot on the streets of Manhattan in New York.
Beyond the obvious, and by that, we mean, the more elegant and sharper exterior styling with the new Cadillac face as seen on the brand’s ATS, CTS and CT6 sedans, we’ve heard that the XT5 uses a new front-wheel drive platform architecture from GM codenamed “C1XX” with all-wheel drive offered as an option.
We also know that it will get a 3.6-liter V6 engine, possibly paired to GM’s new nine-speed automatic transmission, if not from the beginning, later on. A hybrid variant may be in the cards as well.
