Well known for its restomodded classic Porsche 911s, California-based Singer Vehicle Design has been invited to the Goodwood Festival of Speed for the first time.
The company founded by Brit Rob Dickinson will unveil the very first “customer-owned and fully optimized” Porsche 911 with Targa top, as well as a 911 coupe, both completely restored on the inside and outside and fitted with new powertrains.
Following the reveal, the 911 coupe will also be driven up the Goodwood hill by Porsche aficionados Chris Harris and Marino Franchitti.
Not many details were offered about the two Porsche 911s, but Singer says both cars combine “nostalgic luxury with a modern-day twist.” As some of the teaser photos show, the 911 Targa features a collapsible soft top, roll hoop with nickel finish and carbon fiber elements, Targa grey body color accented with gold badges, Fuchs-style wheels with a nickel finish and bright orange brake calipers.
The 4.0 badge is there because the car is powered by a 4.0-liter flat-six engine built specifically by Ed Pink Racing. The engine is rated at 390 hp and is linked to a six-speed manual transmission. Add to that the suspension from Ohlins and the obsessive attention to detail that characterizes Singer’s creations and you have the recipe for a very special creation.
