If you’re into gadgets and you love smartphones, then you probably know how popular drop tests are nowadays.
Of course, dropping your phone is one thing, and seeing it get run over by a car is something else entirely. If you drop your phone, odds are it will still work. Actually, under the right circumstances, it might even still look brand new – which depends on the height of the drop, the way it lands and the materials it’s made of.
However, if you drop your phone and before you can go back and get it, a car drives over it, you can pretty much kiss it goodbye. Or text it. It won’t matter.
What we have here are two products that are at the top of their respective ‘games’. On one side we have the world’s most powerful Android device in the beautifully crafted and ultra-high spec Samsung Galaxy S6. And then there’s the 2,107 kg (4,647 lbs) Tesla Model S, which is, at least at the moment, the world’s coolest petrol-free saloon.
While this video represents two of the world’s most modern “gadgets”, the result is more indicative of the build quality of the Galaxy S6. Which is great by the way, it’s just that a glass-covered back will crack instantly – no matter what type of car you use.
Still, the heavy Tesla is more than happy to drive over the smartphone at 14 mph (22 km/h). What’s surprising is seeing the phone still working (somewhat) after all that destruction.
The bottom capacity buttons still work and the display is just slightly cracked (yet not working).
I guess we can call this one Tesla 1 Samsung 0. Maybe the Korean giant can get back at the Americans by dropping one of their Triple Cooling Four-Door refrigerators on top of a Model S.
