While it may not be any kind of major achievement in and of itself, because you can’t compare it to anything, all of Tesla’s Model S sedans have now racked up more than a billion miles.
Apparently that’s the equivalent of 4,186 trips to the Moon or going 40,000 times around the Earth.
The miles were contributed by all of the nearly 75,000 Tesla sedans out there, which means each car did an average of ~13,500 miles. Obviously older cars have more miles, and some are now already two years old.
Tesla helped itself along by offering free supercharging in and around its major markets, starting with the US, then moving to Europe. They now operate of 445 Supercharging stations across the world.
