Some people find it difficult to let go when it comes to certain things they own, and an old car that’s been with you for a lot of years often becomes something that you value on a personal level.
Nissan thought to use this to their advantage while promoting the 2015 Sentra, by having a group of friends attend a “funeral” of sorts for one of their buddy’s old Sentras.
Sure, let’s say we buy the fact that this guy was so attached to his old Sentra, that it was hard for him to watch it be destroyed. But the commercial is also suggesting the fact that he went on to buy a brand new model, which in the U.S costs as little as $16,480 – and these guys don’t look anything like college students, so why not upgrade to something else?
Of course, I’m just being a little critical – which is easy to do when car manufacturers come up with very intricate ways to promote entry-level models as if they’re incredibly desirable.
Maybe we should take away a few points for the ‘Miley Cyrus – Wrecking Ball’ soundtrack, as well as for the fact that the Sentra is pretty far from being considered a good looking compact sedan.
The good news is that Nissan is planning on giving the Sentra a pretty sizable overhaul, reportedly taking inspiration from the Pulsar (European model).
Either way, as far as this video is concerned, at least there are a few “intentionally unintentional” funny moments.
