Unveiled at Le Mans and later showcased at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Alpine Celebration concept offers a pretty good idea of what we should expect from the production car scheduled for 2016.

We knew the retro-styled coupe had an engine in it ever since we saw it lap the Circuit de la Sarthe before the start of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, but this is the first time we actually get to hear the sound it makes.

It’s not particularly impressive, but then again, the car was just being moved at a very low speed around the Goodwood estate, so unfortunately we can’t hear high-rpm sounds.

The type of engine Renault will fit on the production Alpine car is unknown, but what’s certain is it will be a mid-engined, rear-wheel drive sports car. Rumor has it the production model will get at least 250 horsepower and will be priced between €30,000-€35,000 ($34,000 to $40,000).
