Despite the flashy makeover, the truth is that, the 2015 Lincoln Navigator SUV is based on an aging platform inaugurated by the previous-generation Ford F-150 and used by the Ford Expedition as well.
Lincoln may have replaced the old thirsty 310hp 5.4-liter V8 engine with a more contemporary and fuel-efficient 375hp 3.5-liter turbocharged EcoBoost V6, but the Navigator remains old-school to drive.
Consumer Reports’ Tom Mutchler likens it to a living room on wheels, meaning that talk about handling characteristics should not even start.
Being the size of a living room means that the Navigator offers plenty of space (for up to 8 passengers) and it’s well-equipped too. It would be curious if it didn’t, as the reviewed car cost just under $69,000.
