If you own a 2015-2016 Ford Explorer, 2015 Ford Taurus, 2015 Ford Flex, 2015 Lincoln MKS or 2015 Lincoln MKT built in May this year, chances are that your car is included in FoMoCo’s latest recall.
The Michigan-based automaker said that the parking brakes might not fully engage on these models, adding, however, that it has not received reports of any accidents or injuries associated with this issue.
According to the Blue Oval, nearly 8,000 new vehicles may be affected, including 7,165 cars in the United States and federalized territories, 799 in Canada and one in Mexico.
Ford plans to have dealers inspect the recalled cars and, if needed, replace the parking-brake control assembly for free.
