While an updated version of the Santa Fe Sport was rolled out in South Korea last month, Hyundai is still working on the longer-wheelbase Santa Fe, also known as the Grand in Europe.
We nabbed a prototype of the Santa Fe Grand wandering around near Hyundai’s testing facilities in Germany.
The heavy camouflage obstructs our view of the styling updates, but unless Hyundai has other plans for the 6- or 7-seater model, the changes should be similar to the regular wheelbase Santa Fe released in Korea and which gained a more three-dimensional grille, new headlights and fog lights, fresh tail lamp graphics and redesigned bumpers on both ends.
The same should apply to the interior as well where the Korean market Santa Fe received some minor trim tweaks and fresh colors, along with new tech features including HD cameras and advanced cruise control.
There’s also talk about a new hybrid version of the Santa Fe named “e-4WD”.
Hyundai hasn’t said when the revised Santa Fe models will be released in markets outside Korea, but they should become available by early 2016.
