The always popular Mercedes-AMG GT is constantly rising up everybody’s “draft charts”, where we get to see more and more models with either extra power or putting said power down at the drag strip.
Not too far from Cologne, Germany, hails the mcchip-dkr development center, focused exclusively on software development for power and ECO-optimization.
Mainly, you go there if you’re looking to get the best out of your sportscar/supercar without installing any extra hardware.
Their Stage 1 package will allow either your 462 PS GT or your 510 PS GT S to reach a total output of 590 PS with the complimentary 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of peak torque. Also, you get your 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint time lowered from 3.8 sec to 3.6 sec, in case of the GT S.
More importantly perhaps is the bump in top speed – from 310 (192 mph) to 320 (198 mph), which makes it faster than a stock 911 Turbo.
In terms of costs, you’ll need to spend just €1,899, which isn’t all that bad. The only downside is that you don’t necessarily get to accelerate a heck of a lot quicker, but let’s face it, you weren’t winning any short sprints against the 911 Turbo anyway in this car.
Also, since the same 4.0 liter AMG V8 engine is used in the C63 and C63 S models, you can get the same power upgrade for either of those, except for the torque which is actually bumped a bit higher to 780 Nm (575 lb-ft).
The price is the same.
