It didn’t take long for Toyota to follow up on the new generation of their Hilux truck with its SUV variant known as the Fortuner.
Members from the Headlight magazine community in Thailand captured the production model as it was being transferred on a semi-truck today, ahead of its regional debut on July 16.
The magazine itself also secured some blurry pictures of the Fortuner, which we suspect to be official press shots.
Based on the new generation Hilux, the next Fortuner will likely offer the same range of engines as the pickup truck, including a 2.8-liter turbo diesel with 177hp and 450Nm (332 lb-ft); a 2.4-liter diesel delivering 160hp and 400Nm (295lb-ft); a 2.7-liter four-cylinder petrol with 164hp and possibly in some markets, a 278hp 4.0-liter V6 petrol.
The new Fortuner will compete against the also new Mitsubishi Pajero Sport that was officially teased earlier today.
