If you’re falling short of buying a BMW M4, yet you end up owning a 435i Coupe, odds are you’ll still be enormously satisfied with your car.
Sure, the M4 is the ultimate dream for most BMW enthusiasts, but go deeper into the 4 Series range and you’ll find some really quick versions – 435i & 435d stand out the most.
This gorgeous red 435i Coupe was on display in Abu Dhabi at a BMW dealership, wearing M-Sport duds and obviously lacking a very important badge on the truck lid.
I’m talking about the ‘xDrive’ badge of course, which helps the 435i hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.9 seconds instead of the 5.1 seconds this car (rear wheel drive model) would need.
At the same time, you could argue that you’re having more fun in the RWD version, and you’d be right, if indeed that sort of fun is all you’re looking for and you don’t mind sacrificing straight line performance as well as grip.
You’ll also notice that the car is fitted with Akrapovic exhaust tips, which is a good thing since the in-line 6 in the 435i doesn’t exactly sound beastly.
So yeah, we’re looking at a 5.1 second sprint time to 100 km/h, which is great, obviously, and it’s all thanks to the car’s 306 PS and 400 Nm (295 lb ft) of torque.
Even more impressive is the fact that this engine isn’t that much more thirsty than say the 4 cylinder unit in the 428i, so you can easily use it as your every day car, without having to stress out too much about fuel consumption.
A fantastic car overall.
