Subaru will offer a new, limited edition of its BRZ Coupe and WRX STI appropriately named Series HyperBlue.
The new limited editions are painted in the exclusive Hyper Blue shade with matching interior trim. This exclusivity translates into 700 WRX STIs and 500 BRZs which are destined for the US market only.
According to Subaru, this new and limited WRX STI will feature blue stitching to the standard Alcantara seats, the leather steering wheel, the manual shifter boot and console.
Apart from the bright blue paintjob, the Series HyperBlue WRX STI will also feature a set of 18-inch BBS black alloy wheels, black badging and also black exterior mirrors. The company’s 7.0-inch multimedia navigation system will be also standard, featuring nine Harman/Kardon speakers and a 440-watt amplifier. The 305hp 2.5-litre turbocharged flat-four engine remains the same as the rest of the hardware.
Although Subaru has not released any pictures of the interior to see how hyper that blue trim inside is, the Series HyperBlue BRZ gains a new interior leather/Alcantara treatment which includes leather seat bolsters and head restraints in the same shade with the exterior color, a blue/black leather steering wheel and -you guessed it- blue stitching for everything.
A frameless rear-view mirror and a “simulated” carbon-fibre trim for the center console are the rest of the Hyper Blue perks. The MY2016 BRZ gains the company’s upgraded 6.2-inch multimedia system which offers better connectivity as well as a standard reversing camera.
Subaru says that the two limited Hyper Blue editions will be available for sale this fall with prices to be announced then.
