While most reviews of the Mercedes-AMG GT we’ve seen so far (naturally) focused on the performance side of the coupe, Carbuyer has a rather different approach in their assessment of the German supercar.
Mat Watson finds out the AMG GT is very easy to live with every day, thanks to versatility, storage spaces and intuitive infotainment system. It feels equally at home on the road and on the circuit, but it’s not a perfect car.
The reviewer says there’s lots of tyre noise and visibility is not great because of the narrow windscreen. However, I’m sure many owners will happily accept this compromise to drive a car that looks this good.
Then there’s the fuel economy. While Mercedes claims the AMG GT will do around 30 mpg (9.4 l/100 km), during the test drive the car averaged 9.4 mpg (30 l/100 km). That included some track driving, but Watson says owners should not expect a much better mileage even without track days. I doubt many of those who can afford it will care about fuel economy though.
