Some Le Mans racers are scary cars to drive, and Porsche has quite a few of them on that list.

Evo had the opportunity for a quick drive of the LMP1-98 WSC-95 during the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The car is a revised version of the 1997 winner and didn’t manage to finish in the 1998 24 Hours of Le Mans race. Porsche made only two of them.

With a turbocharged six-cylinder boxer engine breathing loudly under the bodywork and an open cockpit leaving the driver exposed to the elements, the LMP1-98 is probably one of the most intense driving experiences, especially in the narrow Goodwood hill-route.

It may not be a Le Mans winner but this car demands all the respect available.
