The 2016 MY Briggs Automotive Company Mono debuted this year at Goodwood, where it even set the unofficial fastest time for a production car. The revised Mono managed to sprint up the hill in 47.9 seconds, beating the previous time of 49.29 seconds, set by The Nissan GTR Nismo Time Attack.
The faster time came courtesy of an all-new four-pot 2.5-liter engine from Mountune making 305 hp (25 hp more than the old 2.3-liter Cosworth unit). Weight is still 580 kg or 1,278 lbs.
Apparently, the company tried out the car around the Hungaroring track and found that it was some 9.5 seconds per lap quicker than a Porsche 911 GT3 and some 4.5 seconds quicker than a McLaren P1, posting a time of 1:55.
If you’re wondering why it’s so fast, it’s really down to its power to weight ratio. It’s comparable to the P1’s 647 hp/ton, with an impressive 526 hp/ton.
Other new features on the 2016 MY include a drive-by-wire throttle as well as the option to have the driving postition and steering wheel tailored for each driver.
