The all-new BMW X1’s unofficial pricing information has been revealed, and in the UK it’s set to cost from £26,780 to £36,060. That puts it some £1,500 above the previous generation X1.
This price hike will probably be reflected throughout Europe, once pricing is announced for the rest of the continent – currently, this is solely information provided by Autocar with no mention of their source.
The report also announces that UK sales of the new X1 will kick off this autumn.
BMW will initially launch the second-generation X1 in Europe with three 2.0-liter petrol engines: the (FWD) sDrive20i and (AWD) xDrive20i with 192PS (189hp) and 280Nm (206 lb-ft), and the xDrive25i with 231PS (228hp) and 350Nm (258 lb-ft).
There will also be three 2.0-liter diesel models, the (FWD) sDrive18d with 150PS (148hp) and 330Nm (243 lb-ft), the (AWD) xDrive20d with 190PS (187hp) and 400Nm (295 lb-ft) and the xDrive25d with 231PS (228hp) and 450Nm (332 lb-ft).
Both six-speed manual and eight-speed automatic transmissions will be available, while the range will expand later on with the addition of three-cylinder petrol and diesel units.
