The Mercedes-AMG GT S is one of the hottest supercars of the moment. Odds are, if you’ve seen one in person, you’re already very much in love with the way it looks.
Of course, Mercedes would have us believe that the AMG GT S is an amazing performer as well. Which based on certain written & video reviews, it most certainly is.
The only problem is that there are multiple tiers involved when you’re trying to figure out how supercars fit among themselves.
Now, whatever tier the AMG GT S belongs in, it’s pretty far away from the one where you’d normally find a McLaren 650S. This car isn’t here to play nice with you. It’s literally one of the fastest cars in the world – we’ve even seen it beat up on the Lamborghini Aventador and almost hung on to beat a Twin Turbo Gallardo (with anywhere between 800-900 HP allegedly).
So what can the Mercedes-AMG GT S do with its lowly 510 PS against such a rival?
Even though this is a rolling start, the McLaren wipes the tarmac with the Merc. It’s not close, not even a little bit.
But don’t feel too bad if you’re a big AMG GT S fan, it’s still a great car. It’s just that, in this case, it was way out of its league.
