The Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 SuperVeloce Roadster has been officially unveiled at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

The drop-top variant of the most hardcore production Lamborghini ever made benefits from the same powertrain, meaning it has 750PS (740hp) from the naturally-aspirated V12 engine.

The Aventador SV Roadster tips the scales at 1,575 kg (3,472 lbs), meaning it has exactly the same weight as the standard Aventador coupe and 50 kg (110 lbs) more than the Aventador SV coupe.

The extra weight is obviously due to the reinforcements engineers made to the Aventador SV Roadster in order to make it stiff enough. Chances are you won’t feel those extra 50 kilograms, as the Aventador SV Roadster sprints from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.9 seconds – just 0.1 seconds slower than the Aventador SV. Top speed is 349 km/h (217 mph), the same as the SV coupe – although it would be probably wise to fit the 6 kg (13.2 lbs) carbon fiber roof before attempting to hit that kind of speed.

Despite the fact that the Aventador SV Roadster will cost about half a million euros, Lamborghini is not worried about finding 500 customers for it. After all, the entire production run of 600 units for the Aventador SV coupe has already been sold out.
