The Liberty Walk kit for the Ferrari 458 is for those who are not afraid to make a scene everywhere they go.

Whether you like it or not, the Liberty Walk tuning style is here to stay. Nobody knows for how long, but when it’s going down, it’s going to take a dozen interesting-looking cars along with it; including this one.

It needs a special kind of someone to look at a 458 and think it lacks something. That’s because the 458, both Spider and Italia, came as a complete package straight from Maranello: With Looks, with sound, with stance – you name it. And it’s not like a bright-red, mid-engine supercar goes unnoticed on the streets. What reason would you have to modify one in such a way?

Well, judging exclusively from a visual standpoint, have you seen something madder? A Ferrari with bolt-on FRP bits as overfendrs and an extremely aggressive wheel fitment – The classic JDM approach forced on an Italian dream-machine.

To be fair, the car doesn’t look at home with the kit – sure, it might capture the imagination of 15-year olds with its outrageous looks, but that’s about it. Its oxymoronic approach emphasizes the JDM tuning culture and exaggeration – a car inspired by racing machines, never to be raced because its existence is solely based on looks.

In fact, Pininfarina’s organic design has been covered with fiberglass aftermarket parts, a duck-tail and a GT inspired front-end with a time-attack chin spoiler – which translates into a tale of excess.

Although not a SR Auto project, the Canadians were in charge of wheel fitment and they’ve chosen quite an interesting set. PUR LG08, 20×9 in the front and 20×12 in the back, which go nicely with the slammed Ferrari.
