For a car to classify as a collectible, it should be pretty darn special.

Take for instance this 325i convertible. At first glance it doesn’t look different from any other e36 cabriolet 3-Series of its day. In fact, even if you stare at it long enough you won’t be able to find anything remotely different with it. The only special thing about it, was that it belonged to the Jobs family. Yes, as in Steve Jobs.

More specifically to his wife, Laurene Powell Jobs – as it comes with paperwork documenting the ownership.

We already showcased numerous high-end vehicles that belonged to celebrities fetching obscene amounts of cash, but those particular cars had the “x factor” to begin with. So, adding a little VIP ownership to an already priceless motoring contraption it’s just like pouring molten gold on top of diamonds – it just adds more flavor to an already unique story; the vehicle’s story.

But what about this particular Bimmer? Could it ever reach a high-end desirable status? Highly unlikely since it’s just an ordinary 325i stock BMW e36 3 Series. Although it belonged to the Jobs family in a time when Mr. Jobs was toying with the NeXT computer company just before his comeback at Apple, the car doesn’t worth much from a car collector’s standpoint.

For an Apple collector, on the other hand, things might be a little different. That said, the car is listed on Craigslist and the seller asks – as of now – $15,000 for it. For that kind of money, you get leather interior and a 2,494 cc inline-six developing 189 horses and a couple of dings and scratches here and there.
