In late July, Saudi Arabia’s King Salman and his entourage of 1,000 people arrived in the south of France on vacation, with local authorities closing a public beach outside the monarch’s villa in Vallauris to give him some privacy during the stay.
Naturally, this enraged residents of the small town located next to Cannes. About 150,000 people from the region signed a petition asking authorities to restore access to the beach.
Authorities listened and the beach was reopened on August 3, prompting King Salman to cut short his visit and leave for Morocco instead. So what has this got to do with our website, you ask?
Well, a Hamann-tuned Ferrari 458 Spider with Saudi license plates was recently seized by the police in Cannes for illegal parking. For all we know, the car could to belong to one of the many people who accompanied the king on his trip on the French Riviera. As the video shows, bystanders are cheering when the car gets towed. Whether it was because of the Saudi plates or simply because it was an illegally-parked Ferrari, it’s anyone’s guess.
