BMW has given the M6 Coupe a Competition Edition that gives it more power and a distinctive appearance.

Available exclusively as a Coupe, the BMW M6 Competition Edition features a special paintwork, carbon fiber components, leather upholstery with contrast stitching, a further honed Competition Package and an uprated engine.

The 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine now produces 600PS (592hp) and 700Nm (516lb-ft), allowing the BMW M6 Coupe with the optional M Driver’s Package to a top speed of 305 km/h (189.5 mph).

The Edition model offers a choice of two exterior paintwork colors: Alpine White and Austin Yellow metallic. In Alpine White, the BMW M6 Coupe Competition Edition features decorative bodywork stripes in the trademark BMW M colors.

The car rides on matt-black 20-inch M light-alloy wheels in double-spoke 343 M styling with mixed tyres. The BMW kidney grille, door handles and side gills are in black chrome, while the exterior mirror caps and M rear spoiler are in carbon fiber.

Inside, the M6 Competition Edition features BMW Individual fine-grain Merino full leather in black with contrast stitching – available in Opal White with Alpine White paintwork and in Yellow with Austin Yellow metallic paintwork.

Other unique details include “M6 Competition” lettering in metal on the door sills and in the side gill elements, along with the lettering on the cup holder. The interior trim strips, gear selector and M sports steering wheel spokes are made from lightweight carbon fiber, while the steering wheel rim is lined with Alcantara.

Finally, the special edition model gets M multifunction seats for the driver and front passenger and the BMW Head-Up Display.

The Competition Edition can be ordered for €17,700 in Germany. This sum adds to the price of an M6 Coupe with the Competition Package (a further €9,500), 20-inch M light-alloy wheels in double-spoke 343 M styling painted in matt black and with mixed-size tyres (€400), multifunction seats for the driver and front passenger (€1,950) and the smoker’s package (€50).

Customers must also choose between the Harman Kardon Surround Sound System (€1,290) or the High-End Surround Sound System by Bang & Olufsen with 16 speakers and output of 1,200 watts (€4,950).
