We suspected that Lamborghini was hinting at a new open top model in their recent Frankfurt Motor Show teaser video, and now we can confirm it.
Lamborghini sent out invitations today naming the new car in question as the long-anticipated Huracan LP 610-4 Spyder that will join the coupe model that has been with us for over a year.
We haven’t seen any pictures of the car yet, but it’s believed to have the same-style folding soft-top as its Gallardo predecessor.
It will keep the closed-top model’s 5.2-liter naturally-aspirated V10 engine that pumps out 602hp (610PS – hence the name LP610) at 8,250 rpm and 560 Nm (413 lb-ft) of peak torque at 6,500 rpm, paired to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission and a fully electronically controlled four-wheel drive system.
Performance should be very close to the Huracan LP 610-4 coupe’s 3.2 second run for the 0-100km/h (62mph) sprint and 325km/h (202mph) top speed.
