You’ll soon be able to get your Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 in open top form to enjoy those glorious sounds from its naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10.
Presented today at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Huracan LP 610-4 Spyder replaces the coupe’s metal roof with an electrohydraulic fabric top that can be folded away at a touch of a button in 17 seconds at speeds of up to 50 km/h (31 mph). Made from a lightweight fabric, the soft top will be available in a choice of three colors; black, brown, and red.
To make it look as good (if not better / more exotic) as the coupe , Lamborghini redesigned the rear compartment adding buttresses behind the seats, new air intakes on top of the rear fenders and a redesigned engine lid. The Spyder also gets an electronically operated rear window.
Compared to the Gallardo Spyder, the new model’s predominantly aluminum chassis is 40 per cent stiffer, while Lamborghini says the car also produces 50 per cent more down-force.
The new Spyder retains the coupe’s 610PS (602hp) and 413 lb-ft 5.2-liter V10 that gains fuel-saving cylinder-on-demand and stop-start tech for 2016, connected to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox and all-wheel drive.
It boasts a dry weight of 1,542 kilograms (3,399 lbs), giving it a power-to-weight ratio of 2.53 kilograms (5.57 lbs) per hp. For those of you counting, it’s 0.2 seconds slower to the 100km/h (62mph) than the coupe at 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 324 km/h (201 mph).
First deliveries will begin in spring of 2016 at a starting price of €186,450 plus taxes in Europe.
