Truth be told, Mansory is a “love it or hate it” kind of tuning firm, even though it comes up with some awesome stuff from time to time. Like this Tesla Model S, for instance.
The Tesla Model S is a beautifully engineered car and – from some angles – a striking, interesting thing to look at. Still, if it wasn’t for its front end design that looks like it’s trying to stuff an actual Tesla Coil in its fish-mouth, then the car would be pretty alluring.
But thanks to its engine-less layout, a plethora of custom body-mods can be implemented (as it doesn’t require an intricate air-providing arrangement), and it seems that Mansory’s approach is the coolest one yet, consisting of a newly designed front apron with integrated DRLs, side skirts, a rear spoiler lip and a rear apron with integrated diffuser. In fact, the front and rear bumper really emphasizes the car’s aggressive design cues, making it feel less odd.
Naturally, all the body mods were constructed in a traditional Mansory-fashion, using carbon-fiber in an autoclave. Yup, even the side skirts. The benefits of this process can be felt in acceleration, stopping distances and energy consumption, as the weight of the car is reduced – or so that’s what Mansory claims.
So, apart from the carbon-fiber diet, the German tuner didn’t boost the car’s performance figures, although it added a set of 22-inch alloys and an intriguing paint-scheme.
Well, the green accents make it look like a sport shoe, but the good news is that you can always remove them, right? Still, the accents are there to highlight the car’s eco nature. Even the interior received some green features, contrasting the overall black cabin.
