The VW Multivan PanAmericana is a concept vehicle for now, but the automaker hints that a limited edition model may follow.

The Multivan PanAmericana’s main highlight is the ability to transport a motorcycle inside. It also features an electrically assisted loading and unloading ramp and interior mounting hooks.

VW says the Multivan PanAmericana has been built for motorcycle racers who want to transport their superbikes over long distances to their favorite courses.

According to the release, the PanAmericana concept vehicle unites the comfort of the Multivan with the off-road capabilities of an SUV. Styling-wise, the vehicle features an Oryx White paint with distinctive details such as the PanAmericana badges at the rear and on the B-pillar, the fins on the radiator grille and the styling line above the side sill in Flash Red and black.

The study’s sporty image is highlighted by the wheel arch moldings and flared side sills, as well as the lightweight metal underbody guard. Inside, the VW Multivan PanAmericana sports decorative strips on the seats in white and carbon look that are color coordinated with the exterior paint combined with the rugged “Clip” upholstery for the middle seat panels and white contrasting stitching. The passenger compartment features aluminum diamond plate instead of the carpeted floor.

The Multivan study is powered by the 204PS (201hp) 2.0-liter TDI diesel engine mated to a 7-speed DSG that sends power to all four wheels via the 4Motion permanent all-wheel drive system with mechanical rear differential lock.
