Are you sick of the amount of SUVs, CUVs and crossovers out there? Too bad, because another one is allegedly coming out in the near future.
It seems that everywhere you look there’s bound to be an SUV, with almost every car maker having at least one in its line-up, or gearing-up for the unveiling of one. Jaguar, Bentley, you name it. In fact, it’s easier to count the marques that don’t offer such automobiles.
As a matter of fact, Skoda is one of the few car manufacturers without a SUV tainted line-up (no, the Yeti is not an SUV). But not for long, as Auto Express reports that Volkswagen Group’s star brand will reveal an all new coupe crossover SUV. Yes, a dashed, swept-back, coupe-style, raked-roofline, niche-carving SUV. And to make matters even more intensive, it will allegedly be showroom ready in 2017 and it will rival the BMW X4 and the upcoming Mercedes GLC Coupe.
According to the British magazine, a Skoda spokesman stated: “We will be growing our SUV range in the future. All of our new models will offer class-leading space, value and quality. So long as these can be included, the sky is the limit.”
Of course, the car will allegedly be powered from a selection of already existing Volkswagen engines mated to DSG or manual gearboxes.
That said, the future coupe-SUV will form part of a four-model crossover range, including a seven seater, a brand new Yeti and a supermini-sized crossover.
