Skoda further enhances the in-car connectivity of its models by launching a new function called SmartGate next to the established SmartLink.
SmartLink lets you connect your smartphone to the car’s infotainment system and use its applications on the system’s screen. The new SmartGate function gives you access to certain vehicle data on your phone or tablet, letting you specify around 40 different parameters on the car.
Skoda offers the new connectivity function in the Fabia, Octavia, Rapid, Rapid Spaceback, Yeti and Superb. Customers can download for free a series of specialized apps into their devices such as the Skoda Drive App which shows values like the average speed, cost and the distance travelled on a map.
Other applications include the Skoda Service App, the G-Meter App, the Performance App, the MotorSound App and the MFA-Pro App which turns your device into an on-board computer, allowing you to access and specify 40 different parameters of the vehicle.
The apps can be downloaded now from the Apple Store, Google Play and Windows Store for free.
