Expected to arrive in 2016, Skoda’s seven-seat SUV will increase the brand’s appeal among SUV fans, adding to the existing Yeti.
Likely to be based on VW Group’s good for all MQB platform, the large Skoda SUV will feature a wide range of petrol and diesel engines – most likely a selection of the units offered on the Octavia and Superb.
Skoda did not announce the model’s name, but rumor has it that it will be called Snowman. What remains really unknown is the SUV’s styling. Although test mules have already been spotted, they reveal nothing about the production model’s design, since they use a stretched bodywork from the current Yeti.
But Skoda’s latest models may offer a clue about the Snowman’s design. Photoshop ace Remco Meulendijk used styling cues from the Superb Combi to pen a quite attractive SUV. It remains to be seen, however, how similar the production model will look to these renderings.
