Judging from the reviews we’ve seen so far, Mercedes-AMG seems to have really nailed it with the new AMG GT.
It’s beautiful, quick, powerful and its twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine produces a sound that sends shivers down one’s spine.
This is even more true for the range-topping Mercedes-AMG GT S, which boasts 510PS (503hp) and 650Nm (479lb-ft) of torque, enough for a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint of 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 310 km/h (193 mph).
But as XCar found out during their review of the GT S, the car is not all about performance.
It’s a great all-rounder that can offer a relaxed drive on the motorway at insane speeds, sharp handling on the track and a comfortable ride around town. And while it’s slightly down on power and performance compared to the Porsche 911 Turbo, Alex Goy says the AMG GT S is a special car to drive that offers a greater sense of occasion.
