Whether the Astra is teasing the luxury class by jumping over a couple of very expensive saloons, or simply promoting their OnStar system, it just seems like their message is one and the same.

Alright Opel/Vauxhall, we get it. You’ve got a brand new car in the Astra, it’s got a wide array of features that you’re particularly proud of, and you seem to think that it’s somehow upsetting to those who end up spending a lot more for pretty much the same features.

Well, this video isn’t even about that. What it does indicate (indirectly to be fair) is that many premium models don’t even have some of the Astra’s new features such as Wi-Fi and OnStar. They even go as far as to not show what type of car the gentleman who seems genuinely bothered by what the kid is saying, is driving.

Of course we couldn’t just leave it at that, which is why we took what little they showed of his premium car and came up with the Audi A7 Sportback. Here’s how that happened: we do get a view of the car’s antenna, which is basically identical to something you get on an Audi or Mercedes-Benz. The thing is, on Mercedes cars, the antenna is even more at an angle and you won’t find these particular design elements between the roof and the edge of the rear window. Also, when the man opens the rear door on the car you can see that it has a frameless design – which points directly to the A7 Sportback.

As unnecessary as all that “research” might have been, it’s good that we can put more context into this spot as now it just turns into a kit whose dad owns an all-new Astra, teasing a man who owns an Audi A7. Ridiculous, isn’t it?

As for the OnStar system, it is a very helpful feature to have since it will do more than just call for help automatically in the event of an accident. You can also connect your smartphone thanks to the fully integrated Wi-Fi Hotspot and run Vehicle Diagnostics.

Thankfully, as silly as the commercial may be, the acting is top notch and the neighbor’s expression is priceless when he hears about the Wi-Fi and smartphone connectivity.
