Skoda’s most powerful production car ever made, the Octavia RS 230, landed in the hands of two-time Le Mans champion and former Formula One driver Hans-Joachim Stuck.
He took the fastest Octavia out on the racetrack to see what it’s made of and was predictably impressed (given that this is an official video from Skoda). “A fantastic day with a fantastic car. Skoda has injected a double dose of dynamism into their sportiest model,” Stuck said.
Based on the Octavia RS, the new Skoda Octavia RS 230 is powered by a 2.0-liter TSI turbocharged petrol engine delivering 230PS (227hp), which accelerates the manual-transmission version from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.7 seconds. For the first time on a Skoda Octavia, the top speed is electronically limited at 250 km/h (155 mph).
The Octavia RS 230 also debuts an electronically controlled limited-slip differential which improves performance in corners. The model also features a sports suspension as standard and a partially redeveloped exhaust system for a powerful sound.
Distinctive design details include black elements and 19-inch alloy wheels, along with leather sport seats and a sports steering wheel. Scroll down to find out what else Hans-Joachim Stuck had to say about the Octavia RS 230.
