Scion has dropped the first cryptic image of an all-new concept model that is due to be fully revealed at the Los Angeles Motor Show on November 18.
The Japanese brand said that the as-of-yet, unnamed, study will give us an idea of an upcoming production model that will join the lineup in the beginning of 2017, without elaborating further.
However, we believe that the concept will preview the company’s first crossover model giving Scion a much-needed contestant in a very hot segment. It could be directly related to the funky Toyota C-HR Concept that was displayed in revised form at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, as it too previews an upcoming small crossover to rival Nissan’s Juke.
After struggling for years, Scion hatched a plan to restructure its range that began this year with the introductions of the Toyota Auris-based iM 5-door compact hatchback and Mazda3-based iA sedan, and which will continue with the vehicle that will be inspired by this new concept.
As part of the reshuffling currently going on, Toyota’s youthful brand will get rid of its once signature boxy xA and xB tall hatches at the end of this year.
