On the occasion of the Mirai premiere event in California, Toyota also showcased two exclusive “Back to the Future”-inspired vehicles, based on the all-new 2016 Tacoma and 2016 Mirai.

The first show car is a re-creation of Marty McFly’s dream truck using the all-new 2016 Toyota Tacoma as a starting point. As I’m sure you remember, in the first installment of the series McFly lusts for a 1985 Toyota Pickup, which he gets to drive at the end of the movie.

Well, Toyota has now built him a modern-day version of the classic truck.

To make it look like the truck from “Back to the Future,” Toyota made a series of modifications to the Tacoma. These include a custom 1985 Toyota Truck Exterior Paint, Toyota Racing Development (TRD) Wheels shod with BFGoodrich Tires, custom front and rear Tubular Bumpers, custom Light Bar, custom Tailgate with Iconic “TOYOTA” Logo and custom Vintage Headlight and Taillight Design.

Other features include an off-road suspension, KC HiLites Gravity LED G46, KC HiLites Daylighter Gravity LED, custom “D-4S” Fuel Injection badging and mud flaps such as those seen on the 1985 Toyota Truck. The truck will be on display today only (October 31) in major tourist destinations from Los Angeles, New York and Dallas, so if you want to see it you should hurry up.

The second “Back to the Future”-themed car is Doc Brown’s time machine, re-imagined as a customized Toyota Mirai. Just like the original DeLorean from the movie, the Mirai features gullwing doors and a heads-up display of the time-traveling destination.
