The newest concept car in BMW‘s portfolio, the Compact Sedan, is returning to our attention in a more toned down version.
Compared to the original image, XTomi’s creation brings an updated front fascia, with production-guise headlights, a black finish for the kidney grille and the bumper in a more realistic design.
Moving further back, we notice that the doors received regular handles and the side mirrors are now larger, similar to what BMW may offer. Last but not least, the digital artist added a fresh design for the wheels.
The final production version of the model is expected to be based on the same platform as the 2-Series Active Tourer models, meaning front-wheel drive, but an xDrive AWD will likely be on offer too, as an option. It will borrow the engine lineup from the small minivan with transverse 3- and 4-cylinder turbocharged gasoline and diesel burners.
It remains uncertain at the moment whether the German car brand will offer the compact automobile in a single sedan body style, or if it will follow the example of the 3-Series and add a Gran Coupe-style edition too.
BMW’s future model will go up against the Mercedes-Benz CLA and the Audi A3 Sedan.
