The Fiat 124 Spider was only just unveiled, but we already have a speculative render on what an Abarth version may look like.
In this guise, the front bumper drops the blinkers and the fog lamp surrounds were slightly redesigned, while the windscreen frame, along with the side mirrors, carry a matte black finish. Racing stripes with Abarth lettering on the sides and new multi-spoke wheels in a larger diameter covering Brembo brakes with the red-finished calipers, contribute to its looks.
Inside, the center part of the seats, along with the seatbelts, get a dark red color, resembling the one used on the exterior.
As a Fiat, the Mazda MX-5-based roadster uses a 500 Abarth-sourced 1.4-liter turbo engine with 160 PS (158hp) and 241 Nm (184lb-ft) for the North American version. This drives the rear wheels through a six-speed manual or an automatic transmission. For the European version, Fiat de-tuned the same mill, which produces 140 PS (138hp) and 240 Nm (177lb-ft) of torque.
As an Abarth, it should more power under the hood, possibly going over 200-horses.
