The 3,500,000th Dacia is a Sandero Stepway and it was recently delivered to a customer in England.
Jody Panov placed an order for a Sandero Stepway and she was recently handed over the keys of the 3,500,000th model at a Dacia dealership in Mill Lane, a suburb of London, by Denis Le Vot, the SVP Sales and Marketing for Europe G9.
“Today we are handing over the key to the 3.5 millionth Dacia and I am very pleased to be doing so in Great Britain, where the brand was launched in 2013”, said the Dacia official.
The Romanian brand managed to sell more than 3.5m vehicles in Europe and the Mediterranean basin in just over ten years. In the first half of 2015, the company’s global sales rose by 10.1 percent, to 290,024 units, while in Europe the automaker saw a 5.5 percent increase to 205,436 deliveries during the same period.
Dacia’s success came after the Renault acquisition back in 1999, which led to the development of the Logan. The budget sedan became a success and it gave birth to other body styles, including the Sandero, Sandero Stepway, Duster, Lodgy and Dokker. A new generation of the model was unveiled in 2012, at the Paris Motor Show.
