This very special Range Rover Sport, first owned by former Man United superstar David Beckham, will be auctioned by Classic Car Auctions on December 5th at the Warwickshire Exhibition Center.
The car is a 2007 model, exclusively designed and upgraded for Beckham by Kahn Conversions at a cost of no less than £100,000. The fact that you can get it now for anywhere between £23,000 and £25,000 (estimated) means that it could be a bargain for somebody who’s keen on owning a car that once belonged to one of the most famous athletes of our time.
Powering the RRS is a 4.2-liter supercharged V8 engine, hidden beneath the striking Kahn body kit which matches up really well with the five spoke alloy wheels.
It may not be as good as newer models, but looks and performance-wise, this car should make for a pretty cool purchase.
Inside, it features a unique interior with hand-stitched quilted leather seats, twin rear screens and a bespoke Genesis sound system. There’s also a plaque which says “Designed for David Beckham” as well as floor mats which have his name embroidered.
Another good reason to bid for this car might be the fact that it covered just over 62,000 miles (99,779 km), which isn’t bad at all for an 8 year old car.
CCA’s Arwel Richards stated that “This amazing personalised Range Rover with its impeccable provenance offers a unique future investment opportunity. David Beckham is arguably one of the most famous personalities on earth, and certainly a titan of sport. Recent sales of celebrity owned cars have far exceeded the true market values of contemporary models and so we expect great excitement around the sale.”
Whoever ends up owning this car, is probably going to enjoy it more because of its practicality, comfort and performance, than because it was actually owned by a celebrity. Let’s hope it doesn’t end up in a garage somewhere never to be driven again.
