Skoda announced that Bernhard Maier was appointed the company’s new Chief Executive Officer.
The former Porsche Sales & Marketing Director succeeds Dr. Winfried Vahland who after 25 years in the Group VW, including five years as Skoda’s CEO is leaving the company at his own request.
“I am proud to work for this large, traditional and well-respected company. I am pleased to be joining a great team,” says Maier. “Skoda has grown impressively over recent years with a remarkable number of new vehicle launches. We plan to continue on this road to success and expand ŠKODA’s market position and brand strength with new models.”
Skoda’s new boss Bernhard Maier joined Porsche in 2001 and under his leadership in their Sales and Marketing division and with the expansion of Porsche’s model range, he took the company’s sales to a new level.
Dr. Winfried Vahland was appointed recently as Volkswagen’s North America Boss but he soon after resigned over a disagreement about the new structure of the North American operations.
