The BMW M2 Coupe is a marvelous machine, coming with a compact body and all the necessary M tweaks to remind us of the original M3, the E30.
Since its presentation, which took place in mid-October, we have seen it in Long Beach Blue and in Mineral Grey, but this particular example is here to prove that white is still a trendy color.
BMW calls it Alpine White and it was caught in the open just last week, in winter configuration, with smaller wheels, and German license plates.
The official successor of the 1M Coupe is the new range-topping version of the 2-Series Coupe and it slots above the M235i. It has a revised suspension system, retuned electrically power-assisted steering, and an Active M Differential.
The M2 has a 3.0-liter twin-scroll turbocharged straight-six engine under its hood, with a total of 370 PS (365hp) and 465 Nm (343lb-ft) of torque. When connected to a 6-speed manual, the car needs 4.5 seconds to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standstill and 4.3-seconds with the M DCT dual-clutch seven-speed automatic, which is optional. In both cases, top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph).
The starting price of the new BMW M2 Coupe was set at £44,070 ($67,200) in the United Kingdom. It will reach US shores too, next spring, but no prices have been announced so far.
