After a few failed attempts and delays, Chris Harris managed to get the latest breed of hypercars together at the same circuit.
He arranged for a three-day shoot at the Portimao track in Portugal. He also made sure they were standard factory cars and fitted them with identical tires, so the rubber won’t be a factor in the outcome.
However, Harris couldn’t handle them all at once, so Marino Franchitti and Tiff Needell came to the rescue. With drivers of this caliber having fun and putting in lap times, it’s probably as good as it gets.
All three are made out of carbon fiber and are powered by hybrid powertrains that churn out at least 900 PS, though each uses the electrification tech in its own way. The 918 Spyder is the only one with all-wheel drive, the P1 does without braking regeneration, the LaFerrari is probably the most sought after.
The battle is most definitely on. Ladies and gentlemen, place your bets…
