We’re on the final countdown for the revelation of Fiat’s new 124 Spider at the LA Auto Show on Wednesday, but here’s a grainy image of the Mazda MX-5 based roadster to cure some of your curiosity.
This new angle doesn’t change our initial perception that the 124 Spider looks a heck of a lot like a Miata that underwent a makeover of the type you expect to see at the Tokyo Auto Salon (remember the Toyota 86xStyle?), but we’re reserving our final judgment until we see it fully uncovered.
Luckily, we have less than 24 hours for Fiat to reveal its most interesting car since the demise of the Chris Bangle-penned Coupe in 2000.
There’s still no word on the rear-wheel drive roadster’s powertrains, but we suspect that the Italian brand’s 1.4-liter and possibly 1.75-liter turbo fours should be on offer.
Thanks to Ferd for the tip!
