A French taxi driver unintentionally recorded one of the many attacks that took place in Paris on Friday on his dashcam.
The footage starts with the taxi driver arriving at what is believed to be the restaurant on Rue de Charonne. The camera’s audio recorded the moment when fire was opened along with the conversation between the driver and the passenger who was on the back seat.
“Someone’s shooting… Someone’s shooting, bro…”, says the passenger who realizes that shots from a Kalashnikov were fired, while the driver adds: “I see them, they’re right there in front of us.”
The two can be heard further exchanging conversation in the car before the taxi comes to a full stop and then reverses all the way back down the road. The video was broadcasted on France 2 TV channel.
Gunmen opened fire and detonated explosives in different parts of Paris on Friday night, killing more than 129 people and injuring at least 350. France enters the third day of mourning and remains in an emergency state. French president Francois Hollande wanted the state of emergency to last three months, but an extension, beyond 12 days, requires parliamentary approval. The attacks were claimed by ISIS.
Our thoughts and prayers go to the victims, the injured and their families during this difficult time.
